exhaust question

Im getting my tax return soon and i am wondering what is a cheap way i can make my car sound more aggressive without a fart can. i was thinking just getting a test pipe and keeping everything the same, how would it sound? or a highflow cat or Resonated Test Pipe what are the differences in sound and power?

I have a straight pipe instead of my cat. and it makes it a LITTLE bit deeper. I would suggest getting the Borla cat-back exhaust for supreme head-turning, hot chick attracting, good time!

You could get the UR axle-back if you just want the sound improvement. =)

Look again dude, you can see those aren't the stock exhaust tips on there, so clearly it's more than just a test pipe....

Correct. Stock: downpipe + cat-back.
Reason is because that is where you will really see any HP gains. The rest is mainly for sound.

Not much of a point to post a sound clip either because it does sound so close to stock.

You should go with magnaflow setup. 3in inlet, and 3in midpipe. Sounds sick. I am trying to upload a clip to youtube right now, kinda crappy because its windy as hell here. I will post the link on here tomorrow. If you are even thinking about just an axle back, might as well do it right and throw 3in midpipe in there with it, it makes a huge difference. Seems alot of guys are getting magnaflow axleback with 3in inlet and bottlenecking the midpipe to fit, which kinda defeats the purpose. Go 3in all the way.

I"m running just a test pipe to try and hardly a notice in difference in sound, though the exhaust smell is a little much due to no cat. I"ll be doing a UR set up soon and will be looking for a high flow cat in place of the test pipe. I daily drive my car so it has to be a some what tolerable for exhaust smell.

What's the model # of the Magnaflow MIDPIPE that you're using? Does it have a resonator built into it?
