Injen Intake with MR Tech

Hey,
So I am looking to pick up the Inken intake w/MR Tech for my 09 Ralliart. According to the site I do NOT need to have my car tuned if I install this. Is this true and how do any of you feel about this?

i feel like you should have searched harder for an answer before asking to have it spoon fed to you.

that being said, its always recommended to get a tune when installing an intake, no matter what the intake manufacturer claims, unless you personally monitor your a/f ratios and find them to be safe/suitable for your usage. remember, if your engine fails, injen sure as hell isnt going to pay for a new one

Haha well I have been looking up info and I just cant seem to get a straight answer. I had the Ultimate Racing intake and it was said to not need a Tune and about 400 miles later my Light came on 10 min later it was off and shipped back to them. So as of right now I just have a drop in installed and am looking at the AccessPort instead of the intake. What do you feel about this??

I had an Injen Cold Air Intake on my old Scion TC, but that car didn't have a turbo, so I wasn't really worried about it causing any problems. On the other hand, I wouldn't trust ANY brand of Cold Air Intake on a turbo vehicle like the Ralliart without a custom tune.

You need a tune after any intake, whether or not the manufacturer claims you do or dont. Your air to fuel ratio will be off and can cause damage to your engine. I have the K&N drop in and will be getting the Cobb AP next week. You cant really go wrong with that. I would suggest getting a protune done by cobb and then you can store it on your AP with all the other maps. They are also doing email tunes now, where they send you the tune and you upload to your AP.

I don't understand why you would want just an intake. You won't see anything that even accidentally resembles a gain in power.

Hey so we pretty much have the same stuff, I have the drop-in installed and will be getting my AP on Wed. I found it for 595 and free overnight shipping. :-)

The reason I want the CAI is because from what I saw there was some increase in performance and well the sound ;-)
