Question ams vs evo

so i tried the search key and came up with nothing(probably my inability to use a computer)
i know both have been used and fit in a Ralliart with little difficulty
just wondering which Fmic works better, as far as cooling and air low is concerned, the Ams Fmic and Uicp or the stock Evo X setup???

gonna be having mine replaced and want the best option!!
thanks

Go with AMS Fmic and UICP. I have heard nothing but good things about them and I know that their quality is the best. Unless you want to spend 2k on an HKS FMIC

I'm considering either AMS or ETS for my FMIC, UICP, and LICP upgrades.

yeah iv'e seen most the options out there, i'm just curious if the more you spend the more you get,
or if they are all pretty much the same as far as performance is concerned
(never dealt with a turbo car before so this is all new to me)

If you want to buy a brand new one, get the AMS one. If you want a cheaper alternative, find a used EVO X one in good shape. =)

For S&G I used the search button "ralliart intercooler" and this was the 1st thing that popped up It was the thread I was gonna post anyways.

You can get a used X I/C for $150 - $250 and see pretty decent gains in cool air volume. I would get an X I/C and put the $500 u saved over the AMS one towards other mods.

If you plan to stay sotkc turbo wise the Evo X cooler is a perfect upgrade, and more then efficient.

Moving to the x turbo makes a case to go larger, but even then it isnt nessessary.

well the thing is im looking for max performance regardless of price because "technically" im not paying for it, so its looking like the ams is the better way to go

AMS intercooler has more area, so will be more efficient at cooling larger volumes of air. I saw somewhere a graph of the intake temperatures at different engine speeds between the two, and the aftermarket IC kept a much more consistent temperature versus the stock evo, which gained 15-20 degrees. As I'm sure you know, hot air isnt very good for making power.

So, if cost is no object, then AMS

While AMS has more face area UR has more volume. Both are tried and true and you won't regret getting either or IMO.
