Launch Control Question

I know the car is programed with a launch control but the evo x mr's launch control on s-sport mode lets the car rev to 5k then launch, i have been practicing on traction off.. sport mode on but im able to reach only 3k. once i held it for more than 5 seconds and it shot up to 5k.. was the the launch control activation? 3k or the 5k rpms

I didn't think our cars had launch control? Do you mean holding down the brake pedal and revving?

for launch control, put trans in s-sport mode. turn traction control off, then hold traction control down untill you see "ybc brake off". you are now in launch mode.

edit- sorry this is for the MR, not ralliart.

Nope. The OP just did a brake stand. I'm suprised he didn't get the "SLOW DOWN" light.

If u do tap the throttle fast to build the revs up I don't think u get slow down because I was able to launch from 4k

yeah guys if you tap the throttle fast few times and hold the brake, you will be able to reach 3-4k. I have done it few times, with asc off and sport mode.

There is a guy on youtube that has a ton of racing vids of his RA. He posted a couple vids of his launch technique. He put the car in Neutral, revs to 3 1/2 and then drops it in drive. Isn't this about the worst thing you can do to the transmission?

I wrote the guy a message about his video and this was his reply. Heres a link to the video too.
I don't really do it anymore, But since the tranny is a Twin Clutch automated manual, It acts identical to a reg. stick when u launch like this. Its hard to explain but when u do a neutral drop there is a slight delay after dropping it into drive which is the clutch riding till a smooth launch is engaged. I would say it is even safer than a reg. stick launch cuz it does it everything for u then hold on tight.

hmmmmmm i did the launch few times, if i dont floor it i am ok, but if i do i hit OVERBOOST then i get a check engine light and car sounds like it has cams, also once i got a service to transmission light come on.. But after turned the car off for few seconds and then cracked it back up the transmision service light went off, transmission shifts perfectly as always, check engine light was read it was overboost, so i cleared it and everything is back to normal,,, but i really think that launching a ralliart is a NO NO, so if you are racing someone from a dead stop, power brake to 2k AT MOST no more than that, this seems the safest... stay away from topping throttle and trying to reach 4k RPM or 5K or so called launch control on a ralliart...
