Yeah, some dealers are doing those deals. Another member also said they had a fluid change for cheap in Maryland.

96,000km (60k miles) is way to long to not change transmission fluid. I treat this transmission like a manual one.

I'd like to see the invoice for this when the work is done.

My guess is the service advisor quoted him the price for a normal automatic, rather than the SST. Poor guy is going to be in for a shock when he gets to the dealer.

You can use pentosin ffl-2. I've been using it for about 4 months now and no issues (knock on wood) my trans shifts alot smoother now. Also it's cheap about 15L
There's a write up about this stuff if you want to know more!

Best prices I've found for SST fluid change:
1L Ravenol G 052 182 A2 ($14.95 ea or cheaper if you buy by the case) x8
This is the same as Pentosin ffl-2

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mitsubishi-Lancer-Evo-X-Ralliart-TC-SST-Transmission-Filter-OEM-2513A040-/171103725109?_trksid=p3284.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DSI%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BUA%252BFICS%26otn%3D21%26pmod%3D380433583924%26ps%3D54 $60

All were Free shipping and no Tax! Total = $179

There is a new Ravenol oil for the TC:SST here:
http://www.blauparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=J1D2111-C

I am considering it. Anybody else use it?

That's the same stuff i posted above. The B or C at the end is just blauparts internal part# difference between there Audi and VW categories.

But yeah I ordered 8L of it shipped for $119 I'm away from home but will try to post some pictures of the fluid this weekend.

I received my order Friday from blauparts. The color is gold.
Each 1L bottle is individually sealed in its own plastic bag. 1 out of 8 had leaked, but it was contained within the bag so no loss of fluid. (The cap was on tight so I'm guessing the altitude change during shipping might be the cause.)

Have you guys read this thread at all?

http://www.clubralliart.com/showthread.php?t=4063

It's another discussion on FFL-2 vs Diaqueen, but on the last page, the one guy sent away three different fluids to be tested, and they found that FFL-2 is NOT exactly the same as Diaqueen, and the Diaqueen may be better for our cars. I'm not sure that an absolute conclusion was reached, but I just wanted to throw that out there for you guys just in case.

Think there should be a separate thread for anyone with after market fluid and filters to compare performance or any issues related to such
