Check Engline Light On/Off

Hey guys. I drive a one year old 2010 Lancer Ralliart. I have 25,050 miles. 6 days ago my check engine light came on. And the car felt, different. Sluggish... Shifting hard... It just didn't sound and feel right. It's been freezing cold where I live lately. Then tonight, I turn on my car and walk away and let it sit for 3min warming up. And the light was off when I got in. To be honest, I wasn't letting the car warm up before. I just got in and drove. Is this something I need to be worrried about that I need to go take it into service right away? Or wait a while till I need my next oil change?

Thanks

no.. the engine light will turn itself OFF after a small number of ignition cycles if the problem disapears. Then engine will have the code in pending and will re throw itself if the problem persists. You're perfectly fine.

I have a digital coolant temperature gauge on my Ralliart, and I always let it warm up to about 100 degrees(F) before putting the car in gear and driving. My car is a 2009 and I've never had a check engine light for anything yet.

So... Why don't you go get the car scanned? Plenty of places do it for free. Even if it went away it'll still be in memory.

whats the point...? it went away. An on going issue will persist and the light will stay on.

becuase he is still under warranty and if something is possibly wrong why not get it fixed for free instead of waiting until it can cost more money to fix on his own

A. it will be free to fix regardless.

and

B. Taking a vehicle in with no code thrown will cost him money for their time if they end up finding nothing to "warranty"

If the light comes on again, then it probably isnt a fluck. If it doesnt, then its nothing.

Well I gotta get an oil change very soon. So I'll go down there and tell them what happened. We'll see what they say and if it needs to be looked at ASAP. I'll let you know what Mitsubishi says.
