Question anyone upgraded the WGA??

just wondering if anyone has upgraded their Wastegate actuator and if so where did you get it? im looking into this now but im about to send my stock one off to have forge motorsports design one for me...so if anyone knows a company that makes them already it would defenitly help me out, and give my car less down time!!

HKS makes 2.
I'm pretty sure any EvoX WGA will fit (with slight modification) onto the RA turbo.

the forge actuator for the x works on our stock turbo, but with the flow limitations of the stock turbo, its almost not even worth it. you're better off just tightening down the stocker, getting a 3-port, and calling it a day

the only reason im considering it is because i do plan to upgrade the turbo and more internal engine parts in the future.

There has been a few guys in Australia, that have changed there wastegates to an Evo x one, however these need to be modifyed. i will suggest just tighten the standard wastegate and not worry about it to much. There was no real power gains, however it did holder a better boostline. The RA turbos are to small.

engine internals will also include a new turbo (im fond of FP) i have researched, i just didnt think it was an apropriate thread to post all my future plans in. but thanks for the input. also i guess im sending off my WGA to forge tomorrow. they are gonna make one specifically for the ralliart and use mine to see how long they need to make the rod...which is good news for me cause they are cutting me a deal for helping them out.

honestly, i'd say just wait it out until youre ready for the big power upgrades before you worry about it. if you go with an fp turbo, they have wga's they offer a deal on if you get everything together, and if you go elsewhere for a turbo then the forge or fp units will work with any evo-chassis turbo afaik, but until then, if you do the wga now, you may hold a touch more boost at peak, but not much. it's not going to be worth the money at this point. there's still much more to consider before thinking of a wga, in my opinion

and their wastegate acuator will do what? NOTHING!

the turbo cant produce more power then the stock one can handle. Utterly pointless on a proper tune.

As mentioned by Nick @ PMR, the actuator will smooth out the boost but that's it.
Just doing that should give a small increase in power (just by holding boost longer) but it won't be significant.

the main purpose of this, i think, would come into play for those looking to do the stock RA turbo chassis upgrade route, like what cbrd is working on

but yes, i do agree that it is still pointless on the completely stock turbo when you can tighten the stock wga and tune properly to get almost identical results
