New K&N Filter whistling sound?

I just dropped my new K&N filter in my Ralliart, but I'm hearing a whistling(venting Sound) sound as I give it a lot of gas..is this normal??

Also, I have another question, I hear a rattling sound coming from my car, I can't tell if its coming from the engine, transmission, or under the car. The car is relatively new..It's a 2009 with 30,000 miles. I calledt he dealership and they said its probably not the tranny because its a pretty strong tranny, so they said it may be the metal cover under the car. Has anyone experience this?

Just make sure the bottom bracket of the box is fitted in. If not, you risk harmful air getting in.

You probably don't have the bottom latch all the way. You shouldn't really hear much. I had the same cool sound like I had a cold air intake. I checked and the bottom wasn't latched. Latched it and the sound went away.

Replacing the filter is a PITA. I have never had a car where it was so difficult to get the air filter in and out.

It is much easier with just a cone-filter setup. Pop it off and pop a new one right back on.
