Well there is the issue with the AFR, I remember reading an thread about conical intakes a year back or so when I first got the car. I then got the car tuned and my tuner had mentioned the same thing, idling issues and AFR issues. I could be totally wrong, my car seems to run fine though.

He is talking about upgrading to a CAI intake, because his SRI is "crap". The same problem will exist. I want to know how he can justify the added expense of a full CAI system over an SRI, when there is nothing wrong with it. That is all.

My AFR's were WAY off after the addition of the SRI. I basically put it on and had it tuned immediately. I made no attempt to run the car with the SRI on. This will ruin your engine.

I work part time for Batteries Plus (have for years now), and I am wary about running a smaller battery. I have personally seen a good number of them go bad. I sell these things, and I wouldn't run one. Don't get me wrong, Odyssey makes a great battery (which is what you will be upgrading too, with a small battery kit). However, the majority of problems that I have seen with Odyssey batteries are in small battery automotive applications.

That being said, I feel your pain, regarding the relocation of batteries. It can be costly. However, that is the option that I would pursue.

However, I am still not against selling them to those who are interested. PM me, and I can work out pricing for you on a new Odyssey. I guarantee that I can sell them cheaper than anyone you know. Srsly.

I have had my mini battery for a year and a half now and it's still doing good and it has been good through two WI winters so far. I am impressed so far with it

I've used the Hawker Genesis mini batteries for 7 years now with no issues in 110F to 10F in both my Evo, my RA sportback and a WRX before that.

They work just fine.

That won't work for the sportback crowd I Don'i like the idea of a mini battery unless there is a way to chain two or them together and put one in the the back (perhapse under the floor tray or along the side).

hmm now i'm considering doing the RAD Lite Turbo upgrade, I just got a quote for $2800 bucks to do an evo x turbo swap including a bunch of new parts and new manifold and new lines. I think it would put down somewhere around 335whp how much can I put down with the RAD Lite ? what about fuel consumption with one vs the other?

New it would cost $3500

Used:

$350 turbocharger
$150 manifold
$50 02 housing
$100 gaskets, oil and water lines
$150 Evo x fmic
$50 Evo x uicp/licp
$75 Evo x bov

These prices are based off the minimum requirements not only for the swap but for everything to work properly. the ralliart fmic doesn't even do the job for the single scroll turbo already on it and the plastic bov on the ralliart will have boost leaks on the twin scroll turbo. Also these prices are the average ones I've seen from marketplace or other forums.

Frig i'll give anything to get a oem evo x licp right now. There use to be a ton of them for sale and all of a sudden there's nothing! I really don't feel like getting an aftermarket licp, unless the price is right.

The gsr uses a different licp than the se and mr, so be sure to verify that before buying it. A good idea would be to try shops who mainly do work on evo's and jdm vehicles or craigslist for the licp. Just search random cities and your bound to easily find one. Plus don't search the evo x engine marketplace section, search the part out's section or try the base model for sale thread.

Good luck with your search!
