Nice Dave! If you're going up to CBRD to get tuned, let me know when it's scheduled because you'll be driving right by my house and it would be cool if we could meet up at the Park-N-Ride and check out each other's cars.

CBRD RAD Turbo

I have not posted a follow up to this thread for a while, I guess I thought most of the board members probably saw my other post regarding the dyno results of my CBRD RAD Turbo elsewhere.

For those that might be interested in this modified stock frame turbo, I can tell you the car runs great. It spools quick and starts pulling down low at about 2750 RPMs in either regular or sport mode, and the turbo just absolutely screams at between 5000-7000. The sound is a combination of both a very happy well tuned engine, coupled with a very angry little turbocharger with a size complex and an attitude problem.

To put it in perpsective, I test drove a nice C5 Automatic Corvette the other day, and after driving my RA, the Vette seemed to be a little sluggish!

My tune was done on about the hottest day so far this Summer, but the car put out 302 wheel TQ at 3500 RPMs, and 292 HP at 6,200 RPMs, dropping to 280 HP at 7,000 RPMs. The AFR was right at 11 from 5,000 -7,000 RPMs. I think a decent intake like the AEM box might add a few ponies up top between 5,800-7,000, and maybe a more experienced RA or MR TC-SST tuner might be able to better adjust the torque limit tables to manage a little more torque.

I was told the turbo was able to hold 27 pounds of boost, but was limited to 25 because the software adjustments of the torque limit tables for the TC-SST just did not seem to be responding as expected.

I am very happy with the performance of the car, and the stock frame CBRD RAD turbo mod surely woke up this little car!

No, there was no need. The motor is getting plenty of fuel, and the tuner said there was no need to even consider injectors or a fuel pump on my car. On the dyno the injectors were never even close to full duty cycle, and the AFR on my car is right at 11 at 7000 RPMs.

^ now that is what I would expect to hear. I was always confused by NFS's tune requiring such large injectors. Based on flow rates for the EVO (close relative to the RAD), there should be plenty of room for the injectors. Maybe something I missed there, who knows
