What is the difference between the Evo BPV and the Ralliart ones? I have to say, I'm surprised Mitsu wasn't so cheap that they put the same plastic one on each car.

I'm looking to upgrade my BPV but I'm keeping the stock Ralliart turbo (maybe one day the CBRD upgrade).

I see a lot of guys have just used an Evo MR BPV (is there a difference between the MR and GSR as well?).

Just curious. I could maybe look around and find one for cheaper than buying the Synapse Enginnering one. Probably would be more than enough to get an Evo one if they better than the stock plastic Ralliart ones.

Internally there is no difference between the X bov and the RA bov. The only difference is that the X bov has a metal housing and the RA is plastic.

It does help....from what I read it helps hold boost better no leaking like the plastic one. I bought mine for like $50 in the Private Evo X for sale thread!

Great! I think I'm going to do that. I mean, I'm keeping the stock RA turbo, so until I modify/change the turbo, I think an EvoX BPV will do the trick.

Sincerely, thanks for all the advice.

Jay10, what did you pay for yours (if you didn't mind). Just so I know what's reasonable etc...

This is pure speculation... but the X valve has screws in the bottom (IC pipe side) of the valve that MAY allow one to take it apart and add / replace springs or clean the valve etc.... I just got mine and threw it on the car without bothering to take it apart... if I replace it with an aftermarket valve I may pull the X valve apart and see if it can be modded internally.

That would be intersting to see...maybe a cost effective way to make a solid replacement for the RA.

Thanks for posting the price!

Does any one know how many lbs is the spring in the oem bpv? I have agency power bov and the spring is 7lbs. Problem with AP is no matter how loose or tight you got it, it will flutter like a mo.fo.

Thanks

I just got an Evo X bpv and wanted to clean it before putting it on the car. Has anyone taken the stock metal ones apart yet?
