Quieter Exhaust Advice needed
I need some advice on how to quiet down my exhaust significantly. I have had a loud setup for the past two years and I'm over the drone and extra noise it brings. My current setup is the Buschur Racing catback with the UR resonated test pipe and the CP-E downpipe. I am considering two main options: changing the catback to the DC Sports Catback or modifying the Buschur and putting some mufflers on it. I would put them on the straight pipe on the exhaust and probably more than one.

(I had trouble uploading the picture.)
My question is which one would be more effective with cost in mind. I want to quiet it down but keep the 3" piping I currently have and keep flow about the same. I used to have the AMS testpipe and it was unbearable inside the car. Lucky me, no problem with the cops for my exhaust thanks to Florida laws.

HKS has 2.55" piping, significant shrink in size from what I am running now. I want to keep flow as close to what it is now as possible

Seriously noise has SFA to do with performance. I'm making 240 Hp on stock turbo with hks cat back.

An EvoX FMIC over the stock RA FMIC should reduce your exhaust tone. Also, not sure if your going this route, but E85 decreases exhaust tone as well. Are you running mini muffler?
I make my suggestion based from my current car. I'm running a UR Dual catback, High Flow Cat, mini-muffler and downpipe. On the stock RA FMIC I was setting off car alarms left and right in parking lots. Anything over 3k rpm and the cops are sure to turn their heads. It was so bad my brother couldn't hear a thing I said to him while he was in the backseat. When I went to an Evo X fmic/licp and aftermarket uicp the exhaust tone dropped a ton. It was still super aggressive, just not to the point where the earth would shake. When I went to E85, its still aggressive, just not as loud at idle or cruising.
Hope this helps.

Obviously the broad topic of exhaust has been covered many times, but there are often so many opinions on exhaust it may be confusing trying to decipher the "my exhaust is the best" comments from actual unbiased advice, but just trying to be helpful here is my $.02.
Based on your goal of trying to stay with a full 3" exhaust, for good performance, lowest noise factor, and good value, the DC Sports twin tip cat back is IMHO at least worth putting on a list of considerations. Just for the record both my wife and I are extremely conservative by just about any standards, and we both like this exhaust.
When I swapped my OEM catback to the DC Sports my impression of the difference in sound was that it was nothing more than just enough to appreciate that it was no longer a totally stock exhaust. There was absolutely no drone (and there still is none) and even my wife said she thought it sounded good. Frankly she had ridden in the car several miles and did not even realize I had changed it until I told her.
Fast forward a month or so, and I was investigating high flow cats. Speaking with Darrel (UR) I learned that from their experience their ceramic HF cat was substantially quieter than their metal HF cat, and the ceramic HF cat also provided a better probability of passing emissions tests. I replaced my OEM downpipe and cat with the UR DP and ceramic HF cat, and the exhaust note was noticeably louder. It was/is still not really even close to what I would consider objectionable, but now it is certainly louder than stock.
Even after the mods done to my car there is still no drone, I still have no objections to the exhaust, and I see no need for it to be any more quiet. However one factor that entered into my choice to go with this exhaust in the first place was that DC Sports also has twin baffles available (at extra $$$ of course) that can simply be inserted in the tail pipes (without even removing the muffler) if one wanted to quiet the exhaust even more. I now know I will never need to buy those baffles, but it is still nice to know they are available as an option.
OK, hope this helps and good luck!
