Stock intake vs UR intake?

Ok so I have searched for this answer but havent found a for sure response. I purchased the UR intake for my car and it sounds good and all but just dont see how it really can benifit my car being so close to heat. Does anyone know if you get more hp/tqe gain from just dropping in a filter to the stock intake or should I just stay with the UR?

Your not going to get much gain from an intake anyway.... not at stock power levels anyway... unless the intake manages to lean out the AFR. Get it tuned or try the GST basemap if you want real gains. Not saying you should ditch the intake, just saying you should have spent your money elsewhere first.

I think the new AEM Ralliart specific CAI looks promising. You might want to look into that.

UMS tuned my car. My car isnt stock, it has a turbo back exhaust, boost pill, fmic w/ upper and lower piping kit, and intake. I would think by having what I have it would make a difference on the type of intake i get.

At the low stock levels, the intake will be maybe 5hp. You wont even fell it. But now take the Cobb or Perrin Inlet pipe w/ a drop-in filter, spool and response is supposed to be noticeably improved

Unless you have some serious pressure drop in the intake path an intake is not going to make any power... unless of course it leans out the mixture and or alters the load readings.... which is better accomplished with a tune.

Since your asking is the UR better than stock with a suction pipe and drop in... I would say yes. Once the car is moving the under hood temps are not as bad as you think and if the UR is less restrictive it will reduce the pressure drop..

You need to have it checked by your tuner though post install because it can affect your tune in a negative way.
