Ralliart Clutch Upgrade
#20
I can't wait for the results of this as well. It seems to me that there's way too much confusion going on about this transmission. Too many varying opinions.
For example, we don't really know how much power the stock clutches can handle. Some say 350wtq. Some have more than this, without issue. Others have grenaded with less. Maybe the clutch packs aren't the problem. Heat? Possibly. There's also the fact that Bryan (Razorlab) and others have shown that trans tuning makes all the difference. CBRD RAD turbos, BBX turbos, etc. running on stock coolers and stock clutches with a tune with no issues... Most people who have upgraded to different clutch packs and/or transmission coolers have also had some kind of trans tuning done, and all claim good results. However, it's not inconceivable that tuning the trans might be making the biggest difference of all.
I for one can't wait to see what we find going forward.

It was totaled. I have a GSR now.
So, here is the update. The brakes were supposed to be launched this month. That didn't happen. So, they will go on sale first (hopefully before Christmas). I might just go ahead with the suspension in December, as well. The designs for the clutches were saved. This will still happen. I just have to get a few things post accident sorted out, first.

Yes.
The current plan is to continue with having Koni develop a set of shocks and struts with Hyperco springs. That will be more or less a "track ready" setup. The components should be inexpensive, as well.
The clutches will likely go on sale with enough fluid for a full flush for $1k (or so). I also have someone working on an aluminum filter housing replacement. That will likely be $250 (it is not an in-line add-on). The good news is that the actual filter for the aluminum canister is like $2 at Autozone. All of that won't happen until January.
