Just wondering if Forced Performance have this same issue with upgrading a 08 evo x turbo? Trying to get a FP Green since CBRD pretty much shot me down on this upgrade to a BBX lite.

as mentioned-

the 2008 hotsides were warping quite quickly-

the part numbers on the 2010/2011 turbos changed- the housings were not as prone to warping-

they come in warped- and when machined back to proper straightness- there isnt always adequate clamping material-

so therefor- we dont feel comfortable machining them-

cheers

And.... this is why i like CBRD... Better safe than sorry. Takes this as being one of the few vendors out there that actually care about customer satisfaction more so than filling there pockets.

I've seen pics of massive 55-gallon drums filled with bad turbine housings at FP. It sucks, but better safe than sorry.

So since warping is so prevalent on the 08 turbos how come there's not much talk about the issue? I'm only going from the searches on the X section.
Also, what are the negative effects on the engine if the turbo is warped?

Well...if the housing gets warped enough the turbo grenades (think of a metal wheel spinning 100KRPM hitting another piece of metal)

I don't know, I was only high school Valedictorian....how about you? Maybe you need to retake 5th grade math class if you can't figure this out without using a calculator.

Okay, to save any more red-faced embarrassment, Steve was talking about the turbocharger rpm, not the engine rpm.

^This.

Are we done with this thread now before any further bickering occurs? CB has responded and it seems FP has encountered this same issue...satisfied?
