Why does the turbo max at 270? Unsafe turbine wheel rpm? Knock levels? Out of breath?

You can gain power just by advancing the timing and keeping the same boost on e85, there's a good comparison on here with dyno graphs. It was done on an EVO (8 I think) so obviously the gains won't be identical but they are there.

Yes!
As of right now the only thing planned is Chuckwalla on March 24th but I would like to do Streets or Buttonwillow sometime in Feb. Speedventures is doing SOW Feb 11th. Do you want to try and make that one?

For sure.
Im in the process of moving to Walnut right now. Once im all settled in we will meet up. Car is still slow but that torque spike helps it out a bit

Nothing yet. Ill try to take it to the local 1/8 miles track when it opens up again next week.

The VERY LITTLE stock turbo starts running out of breath around 6k RPM lol Only so much you can do. By 7k RPM I think the boost falls to 15 PSI Its sad.. lol

Chuckwalla, never been, looks like a really nice course
I have a little bit of work to do. New radiator and front motor mount going in on the 13th. Just ordered new springs from Swift for the coilovers (on back order for a few weeks).
I have a set of FN01RC's in the garage that I need to finish stripping/re-paint/new rubber.
And an engine cooler.
The first 3 NEED to happen before a track day (preferably #4 as well), so I MIGHT be good to go mid-Feb. THEN IT'S ON!!!

Sounds good! I'm really looking forward to see how that motor mount helps you out. I really think it will help with the "smoothness" of the shifting but no one has done it yet :P
What do you plan to do for an engine cooler? I really need one before summer...

Yeah I have enough power now that the car will literally buck and throw it's weight around like a buffalo, lol
I'm going to have RRE build me an oil cooler set-up. Cheaper and better than any kit out there right now. Keep an eye out for DFoote's build thread (don't think he has posted it yet). He just had Mike build him a Ralliart Race Car, with custom intercooler & engine/tranny coolers, sick!
Oh and did I forget to mention.....Garrett 3076

I'm guessing the bigger turbo has a more linear torque curve. That should allow us to make more power without shocking the sst so much...
Can't wait to see the results!
