How to tell if factory tuned?
#16
Hi Timestorm.
With your emailed ROM image, I'm able to see that it hasn't been tuned. It's all stock... as nature (or Mitsubishi) intended.
Please note that Mitsubishi's changes made from ROM 53600010 to 53600013 have moved some code and data around. Not much, but it means that using "53600010.xml" isn't 100% accurate and solid when working with ROM ID 53600013.
Most of it is nicely aligned - enough to tell that what you have there is a stock ROM. But it would need some disassembler discovery work to flesh out the dark corners... particularly in the area of coding patches.
So you have your answer - the car isn't currently "tuned".
If you choose to go with a tune like razorlab's v27 Base Map, I reckon you should try flashing the "53600009" ROM to your vehicle. However, don't take my word for it! Post up in the GST Base Map thread and ask that question specifically.
If there's some issue flashing 53600009 to your car, I'd be delighted to work out the extra definitions for "0013". But let's hope it isn't necessary...

Have we figured out if this is necessary?
