Idle Noise

I know there are MANY threads on noises, but none I've come across say anything about only being at idle. AS SOON as ANY throttle is given, or the brake is released, the noise is gone. The car doesnt run funny at all, oil was JUST changed, and a new oil filter put on. Also my tranny fluid was changed about 1,000 miles ago, but the noise has been there before all of this.

Ive read everything from lifters, to cams(which are fine, I've already checked), to simply running fuel injector and fuel system cleaners.

I NEED HELP!

Thanks for any help in advance!

Also, here's a video for reference:

I saw some videos on YouTube, and everyone is saying its the clutch? This does make sense in a way, because the sound does seem to go away when im in gear..

Im hopeful, but would still love some reassurance

There is a sticky thread in this section titled "09 RA engine noise ??" (here's a link directly to it https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/09...ine-noise.html ) It was made a sticky specifically so people would read it instead of creating new threads like this one. Honestly, every other month someone w/ a new RA creates a new thread regarding one of the many different noises that the RA makes and is 100% completely normal....

Jkennedy is right. It's the clutch packs rattling.

I was stressing about the same thing when i first bought my car. Went to 4 dealerships thinking the tranny was busted... none of them could give me an answer.

I was so pissed and thought i bought a lemon on the first day...

It's pretty sad how USELESS the Mitsu dealers are. Makes me want to get a Subaru (yes the Subaru dealers around here actually know what they are talking about)

I totally agree.

I called the dealership the other day; i talked to the guy at the parts department.
I gave him the year of the car and the MODEL of the car.

He asked "what engine does this have and is it turbo?". Even if he didn't know, i'm sure it says on his screen.

Oh and it's not just the parts guys. It's the mechanics too...

Sigh, no wonder 3 dealerships over here have closed.

Thanks for the input, I read all different kinds of threads on this, just wanted reassurance because I've had nothing but problems with the Mitsu dealer I got my car from. Thanks alot though!

That is sad, and I had to have multiple shops around town give me second opinions on multiple things also, when Mitsubishi told me they knew nothing.
