Exhaust Questions
How does the CP-E sound compared to the AMS dual catback? I'm torn between these two exhausts and I can't pick one. I can't really find good sound clips of either but from what I've heard they sort of similar. Anyone heard both in person?
Also on all the threads for the CP-E I noticed it hangs a little low anyway of fixing that?
Thank you for any feedback it is very much appreciated. I plan on getting one of these by the end of the week. Just wanted opinions. I have been leaning towards the AMS dual for a long time but the CP-E has always just looked damn good too.

That is the turbo back though right? I was talking about just the catback. Yeah I have looked at the UR Exhaust it's nice but not for me. I've looked at pretty much every option we have and AMS or CP-E were my choices.

the guy in that video just posted is stupid imo, he hit the top of 3rd gear meaning around 80 mph in a 45 zone. Not to mention the traffic, you cant tell if one of those cars at the lights is a cop. Just my 2 cents. In virginia thats a wreckless and you do not pass go, you do not collect 200$, you go straight to jail!
Good luck with the decision dude! Im sure you will be happy with either purchase. Each for their own reasons.
Hope someone with these exhaust chime in and help this dude out!

How big of a price difference between them (if any)? I hear a lot of good things about the cp-e but AMS's products also get great reviews around here...
I feel like AMS's stuff is overpriced but I can't really comment because from what I hear, the price difference is noticeable in the quality of product you get.
Hopefully someone can see this and chime in.

I agree. But it's good for us to see how it sounds.

I have had the opportunity to hear both, in person (though both were in turbo-back form, so just the catback will yield slightly milder sounding exhausts), and both are great sounding exhausts. If you're just doing the catback section, I'd stick with the CP-E since it is much more tame until you replace your cat (I've heard catback only) so I'd imagine the same would be true of the AMS piece and it may not be enough sound for your liking (haven't heard catback only). If you plan on eventually going full turbo-back in the future, then the decision should come down to the type of sound you are looking for in the end, so you don't end up having to spend more money to change later.
My take on turbo-back sound from in-person expeprience:
The AMS has a very nice, deep tone, but it is a bit smoother and slightly more mellow than the CP-E. Not to say that it's in any way quiet, especially compared to some other exhausts out there, but definitely more passenger/conversation/neighbor friendly. AMS products are always top-notch in build quality, and they have proven results time and time againl. I haven't heard a REALLY accurate sound clip for the exhaust online, yet, but I also haven't looked very hard.
CP-E is a bit rougher than the AMS, but definitely would be the better choice if you are looking for a more aggressive sound as it is notably louder when you get on it but not as severe as the UR. (Strangely enough, however, at idle AMS and CP-E are actually not far off from one-another). The guys at CP-E are actual engineers, so the products are very well designed, most of their customers will swear by their work, and they have a great rapport with the Mazda crowd, as well. The clip taken on the back of the car for the CP-E is about 95% true to the actual sound of the turboback (gotta listen on an external speaker set), but is missing some of the deeper, lower tones that the camera mic. is unable to pickup.
As far as hanging low, I would not make that a deciding factor since I, personally, don't think my exhaust hangs low at all. I'm the type of person who is very o/c about symmetry and things fitting properly, and I actually like the way the exhaust sits on my car. It's not TOO low, but it sits in a position where the bumper cutouts are equally spaced from the exhaust tip across the entire upper circumference. I'll see if I can get a good picture to show what I mean.

Thank you! That is what I was looking for so CP-E is how much louder would you say? Also I forgot to mention this in the first post but how is the drone with the CP-E if buying CP-E would you recommend the resonator for the extra 100?
