Magnaflow Cat-Back Review
#61
loud? not really. It is nice and burbly at idle and low rpms and throaty sounding when on it, but loud, not so much. I mean it gets loud when the loud pedal is floored, but it's nothing like the CPe or the UR exhausts. Even after converting mine to a full turbo back it's not even close to those "loud". Cops don't bother me for having a "loud exhaust", ever.

Not sure where you're planning on getting your exhaust system, but Maperformance.com sells a Magnaflow system that's a true 3" exhaust. In case you didn't know, the regular Magnaflow system isn't a 3" system all the way thru. It has a 2.5" neck down at the converter. I ended up modifying mine, but for an extra $50, maperformance.com modifies their Magnaflow systems to remove the 2.5 neck down.
If you're looking for a true full 3" system, without modifications, there's the SRS 3" exhaust system on Ebay for around $500-$600. I don't know of anyone who's got one (if there's anyone on here, let me know what you think of it), but it looks like it's a pretty good system for the price. The only thing I've noticed is the muffler looks smaller than magnaflows. If I didn't already have my Magnaflow system, I probably would have tried that system. Just my 2 cents.

Just as an FYI, I ran the normal Magnaflow with the 2.5 neck down on my RA Sportback and it had no problem with 400whp on the low reading GST Mustang dyno. I loved that exhaust when I had my Sportback.
So much that I bought a Magnaflow catback for my 2014 Evo 10, this time I payed the $50 for MAP to cut out the 2.5" and add the 3". Not really sure why I did but whatever. I've had it for a couple months now... in my basement. Some day I will install it on my Evo. Enjoying the quiet for now.

I have heard magna flow sound the best and are one of the quietest, but has anybody heard a quieter aftermarket exhaust. This is for my daily driver and hearing the car is fun when you want to get on it but gets old fast in my opinion.

If you look I messed up my post due to the fact that I was trying to type it on my phone in the rain today and re did it as soon as I got inside where it was dry! Everywhere I look I see the part number that comes up for the Evo exhaust when cross checked just want to be sure I'm looking at the right kit!

HKS exhaust for the Ralliart is the quietest of all the aftermarket exhausts for our vehicles that I've ever heard.

With the windows partially open, there can be some drone while accelerating to an past 3k. With all the windows completely down, it's noticeable, but not bad.
With the complete turbo back, there's no drone in the car at all.
