Soon To Be

Soon to be a crazy little sleeper Ralliart...

Plans for this summer:

1) FP Green (ported and ceramic coated) + other X-swap req.
2) MAP REV2 intake manifold (black ceramic coated)
3) ETS ceramic coated exhaust manifold
4) Grimmspeed 3-port
5) AEM EvoX Intake + Small battery (TBD)
6) SSP 600clutch pack + SSP viton seals
7) AMS Widemouth EvoX downpipe
8) SSP Aluminum Test Pipe

Looking for 400whp/340wtq on 93 pump. Something around there would be great!

dual intake manifold setup? hellz yeah!!!

seriously though, looks like it will be beast on an RA. I'd recommend just the 500's over the 600's, and get the SSP seals installed while it's open - but it's your car

Damn that is going to be some cereal power
Talk with your shop, I'd suspect you will be close to maxing out that AEM intake (porting intake and exhaust like that can move significant volumes of air)
Can't wait to see the results!

Corrected! Meant ETS exhaust manifold haha!

I'd rather just put the 600 in right away in the event someone unlocks 600+ whp for the MR/RA SST. It's a small cost difference.

Yeah, I'll have to see what they say. I might go with ETS intake for EvoX!

Exyia is right, the 600's are meant for big drag racing power, not DD Monsters. IIRC they accomplish this by having more clutches, which can create too much pressure for DD.
500 are much better suited for huge DD power, even Jeremy at SSP (with the record for the most powerful MR) uses 500's in his 547whp DD track wh0re

That's gonna be a fun summer for u! Based on my reading, the 600 will have shorter lifespan than the 400 or 500 ..

btw, which shop you going to install the clutch pack? Who's installing the clutch pack will make a night and day diff in lifespan of the SST as well.

the 600's sacrifice thickness for the friction material to hold the extra 100hp or so it's rated at - more intended for full-out race cars that still demand they need more power (jesus christ 500 on an SST is a lot already but some people are crazy )

Both Eric and Jeremy@SSP are on 500's. If someone were to send their SST to SSP (Texas) to have them install the clutch packs, Eric (who would probably be doing the install) would 99% recommend the 500's because of that

so that's my reasoning, but it's still up to you!

This x's a bajillion!!!
Literally a 2mm variance is the difference between success (and never ending joy) and total destruction.

can't emphasize this enough

I'll never understand why some people still hate on SSP. they're literally ****ing clutches - yes there's design into them, but only so much - it's not a ****ing computer or time bomb - it's just a friction plate. it's all in the install

infact, Jeremy recently posted this:
http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/sho...4&postcount=13

I'm surprised that they're offering, because that SST work is not easy/quick. Don't quote me on that, I'm only quoting him - but it is definitely the install

I got to help Eric rebuild his with the first ever 600 packs and it was no ****ing joke. You don't just plop them in - you have to take measurements and play around with the steel discs to get the right clearances. they send you multiple with different widths because of machine tolerances (no machine is 100% perfect) and YOU as the installer has to find the right combination

didn't mean to post that much, but oh well

Sounds like a very fun setup. I'm going down a similar path except EF2 instead of the fp green.

Just a question on the 500/600 plate setup, i've heard/read that the stock ones can deal with peak torque to say 370ft/lbs.(yes different dynos etc etc but for arguments sake lets say 370) So they seem like that can handle something like a stock turbo running on e85 that from what i've seen tend to have a higher peak torque down low and then it drops away as the rpms go up. Something like 350hp/370tq

I've also seen some dyno plots of the 500+ cars which seem to limit torque to the same 370 level but instead of the torque dropping past 4k it stays steady and so HP keeps climbing to the 500hp levels. 500hp/370tq

So im still trying to find an answer as to whether the stock clutch, even though it can handle peaks of 370ft/lbs at say 4k, may not be able to handle 370 ft/lbs at 7k since this is working harder.
And therefore the upgrade clutch packs don't increase the ability to run higher peak torque but rather allow them to sustain 370 ft/lbs over a wider rpm range which allows for big HP???

Maybe my thinking is way off
