Blow Off Valve Suggestions?
Hey all, was wondering if any of you could suggest a good brand/make for an upgraded BOV? I would like to upgrade mine not only for performance but to also have a nicer sounding one, I love that sssssssssffffffff sound some of BOVs make when the car changes gears.
Picking up my ralliart soon. Can't wait! Going to be my first Mitsubishi and also my first car!

A lot of people go with the OEM Evo x bov because it works well and you can get them for pretty cheap. I don't have to much experience with other brands but i have the go fast bits respons on mine and love it. It fully adjustable from 100% recirculate to 100% vent to atmosphere if you want the sound. Hope this helps

OP - you may be looking strictly for sound but bear in mind that a VTA BOV may (or may not) cause some issues with running rich between shifts as that will vent metered air out of the system instead of recirculating it. More to your question, warning aside, people seem to like the Synapse and there's the old-school Rice standbys like the HKS SSQV, one of the Blitz ones, etc. The Synapse can reproduce the fluttery compressor surge noise that people that grew up watching Best Motoring think sounds great (but is actually the sound of you trying to slowly or quickly kill your turbo).
The Evo X BPV will not increase the sound at all - my understanding is that it is still a spring/diaphragm recirculating valve, like our stock one but a bit sturdier. Having come from the turbocharged VW/Audi world, I have my own opinions on spring/diaphragm valves - high boost and mileage will tear the diaphragm eventually whereas piston recirculating valves (i.e. Forge) may not have as quick a response as a diaphragm one, they are much much more long-lasting.
