Clutch change?

Soooo I was just sitting in my room and wondering, do we have to change out our clutches after a while? Most manuals you would but do you have to for ours? down the road once the miles go up

I would say yea. Wet clutch systems are used in motorcycles too and they need replacement also. Wet clutches usally last longer then dry so figure about in between the time of a regular clutch job and say a new automatic tranny as far as when you would be expected to change them. This is what I've been told. Of course it depends on the driver also.

How many miles are you at?

The clutches do eventually need to be changed as an friction element in a car does. It depends on use.

A good way to check is when you do an SST fluid change....check your filter/fluid to see the amount of particles.

Also, you'll feel it in the car. the shifts will suck even if you have new filter + fluid (that could be SST tuning also...but you have to compare from when the car was shifting fine).

No one has really reached the 100k plus mileage, but I would "think" it would be a really long interval (sine it's not in the maintenance schedule).
I would look to Porsche PDK equipped cars, Nissan GT-R's, etc. to try and guesstimate "typical usage intervals". Considering a clutch job on a GSR is ~$2000 every 40k miles, even if the SST had to do it every 100k it would still be cheaper to maintain

I hope we can also diy the clutch replacement. I'm thinking it would be as simple as replacing a torque converter in an automatic tranny. I just wish I'm right!

definitely, it's more complicated than changing a torque converter...
