Sorry to derail this thread a bit, but I have a quick question:

I drive around in manual mode all the time, and I do notice that in sport mode, gear changes react quicker than in normal mode. So what's the difference in S-Sport mode when driving in manual mode? Do gear changes react even quicker in S-Sport mode compared to Sport mode?

Exactly. This benefits more to those that pushes our car's power to minimize clutch slipping at peak torque.

Just like mine, my tuner has to dial down my boost coz clutch slips at peak torque around 265 wtq.

I've been doing more digging in the MUT III software, and came across this as the only thing in my database listing of updates that was marked TC-SST.

08LancerEvo10 EU 4B11 T/C W6DGA (UK)
Improved the relaunch. Added the function that warns to driver during the reverse gear blocking. Removed two DTCs(P1859,P185B).

New S/W Part No 8631A3790C

DTC P1859: Disengagement too late with clutch 1
DTC P185B: Disengagement too late with clutch 2
http://www.evoxservicemanual.co.uk/P...0-22C&page=189

I *think* this update corresponds to the file we are flashing, but I can't be sure. I'll continue digging, I really want to understand what this file was intended to do, what it is supposed to fix, etc.

I just found out that a local dealer just closed down. YESSSS. If they still have the MUT then they should be willing to do it because they wont have any repercussions from Mitsubishi.

It was a EU ralliart, which is the market this file we are using is for. Perhaps if we had a file for a North America X MR then that would give crak s-sport.... OR it could just be a one off as to why his didn't work. At this point I don't think anyone definitively knows. I'm stopping by a closed-down Mitsu dealer tomorrow to see if i can use the MUT they still have. Hopefully they will let me, and that will give us another data point to help identify why some have LC and some dont.
