It will read what ever the ECU tells it to read. Think of it like this if you change out the monitor on your computer its going to read what ever your GPU sends to it. The Cluster on a car is just a monitor that displays what ever it's told to display.

True, however the mileage is typically stored by the cluster... I personally haven't seen a vehicle with it stored outside the cluster... I have been wrong before though lol. Sorry to prolong this off topic conversation btw...

For engine parameters, yes. I suspect we may need to modify the tune slightly for SS if it does actually work out (just smoothing out some settings around shift points), but I'm not sure. I'm sure Bryan would know better than I do. I'm due for a retune anyway, since I've got a couple more parts to add, so it doesn't make much difference to me either way.

I understand the whole tuning aspect of the situation. I was wondering sense we have RA roms will the machine suggest the Evo MR upgrade, or do we have to manually select the software update and download that way.
I was just curious as to if you have a modified ROM ID other than your stock one. Example if you originally have 53600009 and switched to 53600010. Does the machine even care what ROM ID you have?
I'm just anxious to find out

Go to your local mitsu stealership, buy the maintenance manager a case of beer, and beg for the MR flash.
It was a little easier for me. My local mitsu tech is the same age and a evo enthusiast Going in saturday!!
