No need for TCU swap from EvoX MR.
January Mitsubishi launched TCU software´s to MUT. Because of 2008 learning issue. Hope they did it too on US. Because here in Europe they did.
Just got call this morning from one person... Said that just bring your car here, and 2min and you have MR´s TCU program. He also have it in his Ralliart. Had been long time!

So, please call your local dealer or something. Maybe you can have it too.

What comes to SST problems. One is now solved!

Of course. Just building my engine now, which is out. So it will take time.
Remember, that THIS IS ALREADY DONE! And here Finland which is in EU. So i dont know, will US dealers have it or not. Just want to share this with you, so you know that no need for new TCU.
Not some rumor or anything.

I just hope this doesn't fall under the "YOU CAN BUY AN MR TCU!! (only in OZ)"

By more detail, we mean a bit more concrete evidence; like a video of said RA switching into S-Sport, a Bulletin from Mitsu, etc

 

When I leave the doctors office I'm going to run down to the dealership and ask if they have heard any thing about this so called release of the tcu software. Then then the question becomes how will this affect the gst base map??

 

Just got back from the dealer, they gave me the run around and basicly didn't give me a yes or no. They said that even if they did have an update it would be VIN specific, sounds like a load of **** to me!

 

Or post a video of you using launch control! But I'm very interested to see what this whole ordeal is all about.

Yes, we know that IF a TCU can be gotten (either from a salvage yard or from OZ Mitsu) it can work.
But what Livefast is saying is that we don't need to spend $$$$ (assuming you can find one), that the local dealership can reflash the TCU with the MUTIII. That would be a game changer of epic proportions.

 

I'm pretty sure MUTIII flashes are indeed VIN specific (in the US, at least). So, unless you somehow manage to change your RA's VIN to say that your RA is actually a X MR (which is totally illegal), it may not be possible stateside.

However, if there is indeed a flash out there - and it somehow ended up on teh internets. I'm sure some fabulous tuners/ecu geeks can figure out how to flash TCUs outside of a dealer. This situation would be a fairly incredible one.

 

It's always been MUT and I already asked my Mitsubishi contact about this months ago (March 27th) when somebody in AUS informed me of the same rumor. No bueno.

I'll ask again just to make sure...
