From what I've read of Cosworth filters in general, it sounds like they can be cleaned and reused maybe once, but more often than not, they should just be replaced. Is that what you guys have found? aFe claims theirs are reusable. And how much does the dealer charge to replace the stock one normally?

I got my afe for $52 shipped online.

OEM is around $25 depending on dealer.

I figure if I clean the AFE twice I saved $.

^ yeah, me too. Only to save filter replacement in the future over the life of the car. No illusions about mad HP yo! [rolls eyes]

And as a 'performance mod' it doesn't buy its way on board (there are many better 'bang4buck mods to be done first!)

Yeah, my main concern was that it's reusable (or cheap enough that replacing isn't a problem) since it's coming time for my first replacement. Added performance (even 5-10hp) would just be a plus. A little here and a little there helps, and I'm planning to get a new CBE, which could be a little more. I was under the false impression that all the ones I was looking at were reusable, so I'd just get the one with the most to gain, but now it looks like the Cosworths aren't reusable, or at least not more than once.

I know you said'dry' but the K&Ns are re-usable and no ill side effects to our cars that i am aware of... EBay has one cheap/slightly used (last time i looked)...

The INJEN cone filter on my 350Z is dry - and it is cleaned with soapy water and air-dried.... I say that to say perhaps the Cosworth is re-usable...

I'm currently running the HKS drop in and it's not bad. I haven't run into issues with it but, the filter replacement interval is 10,000 KM according to HKS. I'm planning to put a Cosworth as my replacement.

A few guys here had MAF sensor issues with running the K&N but, I'm thinking it comes down to the person who cleans it.

Yeah I'm using the works one as well and I like it just fine as well.
