Test Pipe Compatability

Test Pipe Compatability
Hi all, I have the opportunity to purchase a used evo x test pipe manufactured by T1R and I'm wondering if it's an exact match to the ralliart one produced by them.

I have a magnaflow cat back arriving next week and I'm curious if it would bolt up to this test pipe.
Thanks

The Magnaflow sizes down to stock size where it couples to the OEM cat. So, you'll have to get that changed out for a flange to connect up with the test pipe anyway. So, any competent exhaust shop should be able to make any necessary adjustments to make it work.

A member had posted a few days ago (maybe in the magnaflow review thread?) that a short downpipe would work but definitely not an Evo X long downpipe -- I'd recommend avoiding the risk and taking what p1llar wrote under advisement (since it's just the test pipe you're looking at, an RA-specific dp may not actually cost any more than an Evo X one, new that is).

He meant on the Magnaflow, the midpipe that mounts to the test-pipe/cat is sized the same as the oem cat/exhaust.
The T1R test-pipe should be 3" straight through and, as mentioned, all replacement cats and shortie downpipes are compatible between the X and RA

So essentially you can remove the cat off a stock exhaust system and throw in the 3 inch piped cat and it would bolt up no problems because while the cat piping is 3" the flange diameter where it bolts up to the exhaust steps down to 2.5?

You CAN run an aftermarket cat/test-pipe on an otherwise stock exhaust, because the bolt holes will line up, but you will need to make sure that it is gasketed properly to accommodate the size difference. The flange itself does not step down, as that would defeat the purpose of a 3" design, only that the flange on the 3" pipe has a larger i.d. so there is less actual flange material so the bolt holes still match up.
The only stepping down that would happen would be at the actual mating point where the oem or magnaflow piping is a smaller diameter than the 3" test-pipe, though the flange bolts should all line up without issue
