Are these plugs worn out?

Pulled my plugs @ 59k miles yesterday and this is what they looked like.

I replaced the plugs and the car starts a LOT easier now. I used to hear it turn over 2-3 times before it caught but now it catches on the first try. Also the idle is a lot smoother. My rear view mirror used to have a slight vibration at idle that's gone and there was a ticking sound that's a lot quieter.

But, when I measured the old plugs, the gaps are all dead nuts on nominal all measuring between .0215 and .0230. I wonder if maybe all I need to do was brush some of the deposits off with a wire brush and stick em back in. Or is there more to a properly functioning plug than the gap distance?

You can get them from RockAuto for $9.68 each. I always order stuff there with a discount code online. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php

I use Pulstars on my sonata and they were kick ***. Gigantic spark= better burn. I just don't know about the heat range, gotta be careful with that. That's why I don't use em in the ralliart

Pulstars would be bad news in a turbo car. Don't care what they claim but a multiple heat range plug shouldn't be used. I would either use the OEM iridium or a step colder iridium. I think the NGK Iridium IX is a good plug. I use them in my 300zx twin turbo and they work great.

Exactly my thought. NGK is trusted by everyone. Otherwise cars would come from the factory with e3 or pulstars. Proven safety and reliability
