I was reading about timing chains, i got on this video :
It reminded me about that old not totally answered thread.
Go to 4:40 up to 5:58 of the video. It says that any condition that needs to reset engine learned values, will also reset the timing chain learning value. So the value must be saved first and writed back after.
Questions are :
1 - Do clearing DTC's erase the engine learned values ?
2 - Do Flashing the ECU erase the engines learned values ? (For those who might care)
Thanks again

I had the timing light triangle with ! In the middle of it come on recently. Had the chain replaced and cleared all my codes and it went away. Every 3 days or so the light comes right back on no matter how many times I clear it. I also have been tuning and reflashed a few times and updated roms and sure enough the light comes right back. From what I've been seeing and reading you absolutely have to have the MUT 3 tool reset the values. Which my local dealership wants $200!!

They () have a monopoly and know it.
That being said, it looks like that there is nothing to worry about.
Thanks for sharing the info.
Any new input is still welcome.

Correct. If you watch that video posted above too it shows how you have to go in there and go into timing chain values and reset them and save your old one off the ECU and all that stuff.
$200 is a total rip off i was quite pissed when i heard that concidering labor for the chain only ran me $400 from a local performance shop and the computer parts should take less that 15 min!
