Should i insist on a boost pill?

Hi all i just had a quick question.
I had my ralliart custom tuned 6 months back. There is only one place within 3-4 hours of me that does this work. The workshop said to me that i do not require a boost pill to get a quality tune with very good gains. (I got the tune done picture of results.)

Long story short i am going back to have the car tuned again should i insist on a boost pill being used. What are some of the benefits of one? As i feel the workers at the store have more experience and i have to convince them to use it.

Thank you.

The difference is 20 hp gains you already have versus 40 hp gains with the boost pill.

Do you have extensive mods? What's the logic behind paying a tuner who doesn't seem to know much vs just buying a tactrix and putting a base map in? With intake and exhaust your still covered by basemap. Only reason to custom tune an RA past that is other mods

Well the reason i got the custom tune was i have no idea how to flash a car with a basemap on my own. I find the instructions online overly complicated and hard FOR ME to understand.

The mods i have are an evo 9 bov. UR lower and upper pipes High flow air filter and a UR intercooler.

If you can direct me to a base map for a 2011 Australian ralliart that will work with these mods i would be happy to do further research on it.

If you absolutely insist on taking it somewhere to get tuned then I suggest picking up a 3 port EBCS (Electronic Boost Control Solenoid). I know many people jump for the Grimmspeed 3 Port.

If you wanna go the Tactrix + EvoScan + ECU Flash route then the ROM's are here:

I had a look and found the appropriate Rom. By the look of things i think the tune is the better option for me.

The workshop i went to recommended a 3 port* a few months back. I will give them a call and see what they say.
Is a 3 port* a better just more expensive alternative to the boost pill?

Thanks.

It has more range and finer control of boost, therefore eliminating the need for the bosstpill. The boostpill pretty "tricks" our stock controller.

Where abouts in Australia are you RA/CS? Maybe you can find someone with a tactrix nearby. A 3 port is good, but is way more expensive than a boost pill and then will need to be retuned anyway

^^ +1 Beeble. He recently acquired a MUT3 too - so you can also flash SST TCU with S-Sport should you wish to further void warranty.

+2 Beeble has a very good reputation here in Oz (lives in North Melbourne). I work out of Braeside (Mordi) if you're closer (depends what side of the city you are)

Flashing to basemap with boost pill is pretty easy once you've got yer head around a few basics
