  3. Wait for someone to make a rear difusser to replace our lame black plastic piece.
  4. Just wait and see how bad it gets, then buy a new OEM peice for $140 and mitsubishiparts.net (currently my choice )
5. Go to a good exhaust shop and see if they can modify the exhaust tips to move them either a little lower or a little further rearward(or both) to allow the exhaust gas more time/distance to cool down before coming in contact with the plastic.

6. not get the turboxs exhaust and go with the magnaflow instead.

True but this sounds expensive. I might try to see if there are longer exhaust hangers for the rear available to give me a 1/2" drop

Yeah but your in California where they don't salt the roads and rains only one month out of the year.
Everyone with a magnaflow exhaust has to either paint it or just deal with the rusting pipes. Plus the stock exhaust looking tips was a turn off for me.
I'm pretty sure if TurboXS used 3" tips intead of 4" this would not be a problem. If I can source some lower exhaust hangers I'm sure this will fix the issue.

Really close to pulling the trigger here. Do you think something like this would work? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-652282/overview/ Basically extend the tips out, attach with rivets...

Can you measure the ID of the tips? The pipe is 4" ID in, 4" OD out.

You can also just drill out the rivets and find longer 4.5" tips like
these DC ones these DC ones
or similar online.

This is the rout I may go if I replace my rear lower bumper section with another OEM peice.

Love the sound on my car! I got the turbo back the only downfall, i threw in some BC coils and lowered the car roughly 2 1/4'' in the front, 2 1/2 in the rear and because of the design i get a lot of scrapping on the pipe. doesn't seem to have caused any problems.

Question tho, have you experienced any hunting in the idling? once i installed the exhaust, i didn't tune it so because it runs rich, I'm getting idling problems more often if i don't put Shell gas in or i ran the AC.

Here is what it sounds like with a 150 CEL HFC. Quite the difference for those who are curious. This was taken with a GoPro with complete water proof housing. This is a full Turbo Back Exhaust from TurboXS on the sedan.

I have no idle hunting that your experiancing. It sounds like you might posibly have an exhaust leak. I would check the exhaust bolts and work your way up to the manifold. Check the manifold for cracks as well as it seems to be an issue with the OEM castings.

I'm really interested in this exhaust as well. Is the rattling and noise during driving and what not occurring with every installation? Or can this be avoided and only happens to some people in some instances? Also with the hanger issue one side being higher than the other, an easy fix here as well??

I only heard the rattle on cold start-ups reversing out of my driveway, after the exhaust warmed up it seemed to go away. It wasn't rattling during actual driving or stopped at lights or anything.

One side higher or lower is so slight and not even noticeable, the only issues with the exhaust are that the mid pipe hangs lower than some others. If your stanced or really low then look elsewhere.

I see, how low would you say the mid pipe dangles? Because I plan on lowering later on into the cars life span, however not the point where the thing is completely slammed ya know? So that may be an issue down the line unfortunately. Are you still hearing any rattling or any other kinds of noise during driving and idling at this point?

I have the turboXS TBE on my 09 ralliart. I'm on eibach springs and it doesn't touch for me, I rarely have people in the car anyway. I'm going to FA 500's coils soon.

I experienced some rattling when I first got the exhaust but found out it was rubbing somewhere. I got it to move a bit and hasn't rattled since.. And I have the sedan and it does not burn the plastic on the bumper. I'm really quite happy with it. If I go lower and it touches I'll fab something up, not a big deal in my eyes.

It's unfortunate that rattling sound. But from the look of it there are adjustments that can be made during install to correct that issue.
Stuck still between the performance muffler from Ultimate racing or the full turboxs catback. Think UR sounds slightly better but thanks for the info
