I think my rear diff is shot

Hey guys got a quick question on what you guys think. This past weekend I was on Gingerman Raceway and after my last session I noticed that while going slow and turning I'd get a clunking noise. Nothing abnormal happened on the track, nor was I able to actually go all out. But now its doing this while going straight, but only slow. Any ideas?

Your best bet is to drain the fluid and see if there is any chunks of metal when it comes out. I doubt that is your diff. It might be some part of your suspension. Check for any fluid leaks on your struts, the condition of your sway bars, your control arms, and bushings.

How many miles are on your car, what mods (if any) have you put on it, and has it been in any accidents?

We put it on a lift last night and everything's tight. We desided to put it in drive and see if we heard anything and if you slow/stop one of the rear tires you get the clanking, but nothing's loose, I shoulda got a vid but I didn't so I guess its going to the dealer next week. And only mods are rear swaybar, gst basemap. And no the end links of the swaybar aren't bent.

Damn that sucks. You should take off those sway bars so they can't be like "oh that's the reason why your diff went out".

Yeah some dealers don't like mods at all. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Did you watch the swaybar while stopping the wheel? Do you have the lateral locks on the swaybar? The torsion caused while shifting all of the rotating torque to one side of the car could cause the swaybar to shift and knock something. Just a thought
