sst fluid

Where is the cheapest you guys have found the SST fluid for? And where at? Mine's due for the transmission service and I'd rather not pay the dealer a dime

I thought $149 from Jacks was a pretty decent price, then I just saw FredBeans price... lol $122 is a great deal on that stuff.

^great post!

Consensus on the TC-SST forum is that the Ravenol is a suitable sub for the Diaqueen.

People are using other fluids, but I'd much rather trust Jacks Transmissions who have to deal with the results. According to them non-OEM transmission fluid can cause serious issues in the long term:

"If someone installed anything other than the factory DCT fluid from Mitsubishi in the trans, the protective gel inside the trans valve-body (mechatronic assembly) will be damaged and can become conductive. This will cause a series of odd issues with the trans as the TCU will not be able to operate properly."

Honestly, this transmission is rather expensive to fix or replace. Saving $100 today can cost you quite a bit in the future.

But i won't get into that argument (enough threads about that already), just make sure you shop around as freadbeans is only cheaper when they offer free shipping.

With all of the threads out about FFL-2 and upgrading the stock fluid, you would think that most people would go that route. DSG fluid is about $17/L. I am sure that you could find it even cheaper online. Why you would put that stock crap back into your car is beyond me.
