BOV upgrade
I'm looking to upgrade to the evo recirc(bov) vavle but I'm having a hell of a time finding it on Mitsubishi parts.net... Would anybody happen to know the mitsu part number? Or know what subsection of the parts list it would be in?

Buy a used one off of here. Its what I did 3 years ago and it still works great. I also only paid like $80 or so.

New for $100? You must be joking. Plus there's other groups on facebook if you have one solely dedicated to buying/selling evo parts where I've seen people selling the stock ones for $50 plus shipping. Someone must not be looking hard enough.

It shouldn't I don't think. The design should be the same unless they changed it over the years. You could use a Evo IX as well but would have to get creative with the orientation as the nipple on top is pointed a different location.
Thats not a bad price. I just bought one off a guy for $35 shipped to me.

On a stock car? You won't notice it.
On a tuned car with GST/boost pill - you would do it to prevent loss. I did the BOV in anticipation of the higher boost levels from the tune. The plastic one is rated only for the stock boost level.
I am sure someone added it after getting tuned and could chime in...

I did end up getting an evo x bov not long ago and there is some easily appreciable loss, I don't have a boost gauge yet but you could easily feel it, I changed mine after doing GST basemaps, intake, cbe and the boost pill, I would bet even with the stock plastic bov you are loosing some boost... By the way if you haven't done any of these fairly inexpensive mods, DO IT at least drop in filter, boost pill and GST maps this car is so detuned and held back it's painful.
