Transmission failure 2011 Ralliart 73k mi. Any rebuild shops near Boston?
Devastated. Walpole Mitsubishi confirmed my bummer of a situation. Shift fork broken, 4th gear. Had boost pill installed w basemap I found on this forum since odometer around 30k. Out of warranty. They quoted $15,500 to put in a new tranny. 2011 sportback. Other than boost pill, no mods.
Hoping to find a rebuild shop in the northeast that can do it for a fraction of that. I'm in Mansfield, near Boston & Providence.
Anyone have any advice? Want to just cry along w me? Dammit.

So total would run me between $4,500-$5,000.
Is this a decent price?
Otherwise if I have them remove it/reinstall it I'm looking at $1,500-2,000 and then I pay to have it shipped to a rebuild shop like jacks where it'd be $2000 for the rebuild not incl ship.
But who knows how good an eBay tranny actually is.

Yeah they said they can't find anything local and saw the same one currently on eBay as I did for $2,700. If I buy and ship that to them, they'll swap it in for $1,500-2,000.

call around , i would send mine out to one of the following shops. or at least order the parts needed and ask them if there is any shops local to you that they would recommend.
Kosmic motorsports.
Jack's Transmissions.
SSP
and Shepherd's Trans

I'm new here, this is actually my first post.
But my advice to you would be to talk to Mitsubishi directly, try and get a hold of someone above the dealership because any other car that chunks a tranny just 13k outta their warranty should be able to get at least some kind of benefit from the company.
Case in point my buddy at work blew up his throw-out bearing in his clutch in his VW tdi at 75k miles...they wouldn't cover parts but the corporate forced the dealership to eat the labor...Maybe that will help you out a little when budgeting this out.
I hope this is atypical for these trannys?
