I Thought I'd share my find so others can benefit from it as well. Groupon has an obd II Bluetooth on sale from 39.99 to 14.99 after taxes it's about 20 even. hope this helps someone out. It uses the app torque Which I've heard great things about.

I got mine from Banggood.com for $10 CAD ($8 USD) shipped for free from China. I went with the Bluetooth model, which works fine with my BlackBerry and Android, but apparently iPhones don't like them much, so those might work better with a WiFi model.
