Gear oil?

Long story short, all I'm waiting on from the dealer to go pick up my car is "91w gear oil" that's all he said he was waiting on this oil because no one stocks it and it's supposedly going to be a 2 week wait, he said if I could get some to bring it in and get the car, I can't find anything on gear oil or being 91w for ra does anyone know exactly what I need here??

Is this for the rear diff? That should be 75w-90 or 80w-90 but i dont remember which one.

Someone correct me if im wrong please but you are missing some numbers there and 91 isnt a number that would be used

He said nothing about rear dif. I made him repeat it 3 times because I didn't understand what it is, all he would say is 91w, gear oil, claiming no one stocks it and it has to come from "5 hours away" and will take 1-2 weeks. Honestly, it's been 3 weeks they've had the car, everyday I have to call HIM because he won't call me first, and there's always something silly delaying them from finishing the job. It's not a common dealer because it's not a big town, but to all I recommend avoiding Belleville, Ontario Mitsubishi

I'm guessing he meant Diaqueen LSD SAE-90. It's used in the transfer case and rear diff. Trans is different. Even if they don't stock it, which is hard to believe.... it shouldn't take that long to get it.

Wow, sounds like something else is going on. We receive stock orders within 2-3 days, and fluids are a regularly supplied/stocked item at ALL distribution centers. Even a week, at most, is all it should take.

As .M. said, LSD 90 weight gear oil is the ONLY gear oil that the Ralliart requires, and, again, is a VERY common fluid for Mitsu. I'd push the dealership harder and see what's really up. Ask them for the phone number to contact their DPSM (district representative) if they keep giving you the runaround.

Edit: Dammit, I just realized I'm 3 weeks late responding to this... either way, what was the end result, if you don't mind sharing?
