Blown Turbo/Seals?

So lately I have been only getting about 13lbs of boost.
I'm checking this with my Cobb V2.

We recently had a string of cold days that were about 3 deg. F.

Today it is 45 and I barely getting past 12.

I'm running a Grimmspeed 3 port EBCS and a Stage 2 map with the cobb.
When I installed all of this around Thanksgiving. I was getting 21psi peak boost.
This past week performance has dropped off significantly.

I have checked all of my hoses which were tight.
Checked my LICP for cracks and my FMIC.
(I have and EVO X BOV, UIcp, LICP, and FMIC)

So I pulled the BOV thinking perhaps it developed a crack due to heat change on these frigid days. Everything looked goo EXCEPT! I have what seems to be exhaust soot all up in there. My hoses and into the intake are all grimy as well(naturally).

Sooo is there anything else I can check to rule out the turbo or should I put the broad on the lift and pull the turbo?

Thanks guys

See any smoke under boost? Also pull your UICP see if there is any oil.

So I have some oil mist up in the UICP.

How much is normal?

Sorry the pics aren't great.

So I'm gonna bring it in to work tomorrow and do a total system test.
I'm leaning towards s turbo or wastegate due to the sudden onset of all this.
But hopefully I'll be wrong tomorrow and have a leak.

It sounds more of a boost leak. That doesn't look like enough oil for a blown seal. At least from my experience. Good luck let me know what you find.

So today we put 25 psi to the UICP at the turbo outlet. Got a couple little leaks...fixed those did not change anything...my buddy is thinking the cat but at 30k were both skeptical...how can I test the wastegate? 25 psi at the turbo inlet?

We also removed the intake and felt the turbo spin freely and checked play up and down we felt maybe .005" just barely enough play to tell there was any.
One thing we noticed was the intake was pretty oily as well...but given the breather routing I'm sure that's the cause

Do you have another wastegate you can test swap? Just to see if that makes any difference. To me it doesn't sound like a seal or the turbo it self. What is the wastegate set at from the factory?

I know it's a little off topic, but I'm finding water in the bottom of my uicp. Anyone know what that may be?

After some seriously annoying googling!

Stock wastegate spring is somewhere between 12-14psi

I'm not sold on anything, I just thought due to the oil perhaps it was a seal.

My next step will be to put pressure to the WGA actuator and see where it opens.
After that if I get an inconclusive test Ill unhook the EBCS, and VERY CAREFULLY drive and see what I get for Boost numbers. Make sense?

If you unhook the EBC it will run on just wastegate pressure. It sounds like the EBC buy a manual one to see. I bet that solves the issue.

Cheers

Condensation from temperature differences between the piping and atmosphere, as the turbo sucks in cool air and heats it up water is going to evaporate from the air and condense to your piping.

So Unplugged the EBCS on the drive to work. Got 10lbs of peak boost...that seems low

This wasn't just condensation, it was about a cup off water down there?

Unless you went through a puddle that's all it really can be, unless you have some leaks in your lines letting water in...But then were talking boost leaks. It was in your FMIC right? That's a collection point for all the condensation your gonna see day to day, Up here we have pretty dry air and so typically and intercooler isn't gonna be soaked wet...But in Florida I imagine your quite a bit more humid. When was the last time you had everything open prior to discovering the water.
