move battery

my idea (not saying its the right way it's just how ive seen it done)would be to cut the connector the tightens onto the positive on the battery and use a butt connector to then a long 4 to 0 gauge wire that would be ran to the trunk... go through one on the many holes in the firewall such as the one behind the glove box then down the side of the car (where all the other little wires run alongside the seats) then optima has a universal battery tray available on summit racing and mount that in the trunk ..... then at an auto parts place buy another battery connector and then use a short 4 to 0 gauge wire to make yourself a good ground then use another battery connector and then hook up your battery done!

I choose to do the truck relocation, when i did my turbo swap i ordered my intake for a EVO X and just bought the Summit Racing Battery Relocation Kit. It comes with Wire, ground and postive, Battery tray and battery hold down. Even a templete for drilling the holes. I had to drop my EVAP canister on the driver side for the hold down bolts, then was able to put back up. it was very simple to route the wires with the fuel lines into the engine bay.

Fuel lines? Did you run the battery cables under the car or something?

im sure this will work just fine, but just the idea of electricity and fuel mixing makes me shudder a bit.

It's pretty straight forward, basically like running a power wire to your trunk for subs. I've had an AMS mini battery in my trunk for awhile now. When you do it be sure to get 0/1GA wire and a 100A+ circuit breaker. Any smaller wire and you will have issues starting in cold weather. Here is a link to my other thread, shows a picture of where I put mine right behind the back seat.

so for the 100A circuit breaker did you just run it in line behind the rear seat just before the battery, or in the hood next to the original connection?

just an advice to anyone...do not run 12v of power next to your fuel lines much less under the car...highly dangerous.
