Do you have any pics of your car with the vinyl covered ring? Also, is the vinyl flat or glossy? I'm kinda picky and I think it would look wierd to me if the nose was flat/satin and the ring was glossy black. Thanks!

Turned out really nice guys. It would be awesome if you could make a sticky on the how-to, with pics. It would be a great contribution to the community.

Wow, that looks awesome! The vinyl doesn't look out of place or shiny at all. Thanks for the post

the vinyl is satin black vinyl from a sign shop.

you need to get a large piece. several inches wider than the ring ,at least.

cut out the shape of the ring , except real wide...

so it looks like you have a ring that is about four inches thick.

you will need a hair dryer to heat the vinyl slightly .
.......so it will conform to all of the curves.

.one big piece.

lay the ring on the back side of the vinyl and trace around it.

make the outline at least one inch from inside and outside edges.

you could try it...............

i think that would actually look WORSE than the chrome.

it would make the "opening" in the nose look smaller and also less defined.
