My Z-Chip Review

Alright, I was lucky enough to have my 2009 Mitsu Lancer RalliArt Chipped, tuned and dyno'd by TTP. Being new to the scene of performance modding I was unsure how to upgrade my power in the RA for the most bang for my buck. After much research I decided to go the TTP way of being chipped. I drove from Texas to Florida to visit family and make a trip to TTP along the way and it was pretty much worth it. They offered great service with great custom tuning. No problems after day one. But I did get a CEL on my way back to Jacksonville, but was told it could appear ofter. The CEL went away about 5 hrs later though, so no CEL as of now, but I can prob expect it to return since TTP upped the PSI from 17 to 22 psi. and it's usual for the ecu to detect boost changes.

Now I dont have the Dyno graphs to post here just yet. but I will post them once I get them scanned first thing monday(TTP may have a post here soon, with the graphs and such of my car)

Baseline stock my numbers were:
Max Wheel Torque - 242
Max WHP - 214

Z-Chip Tuned
Max Wheel Torque - 265
Max WHP - 252

I also did noticed my car was doing 0-60 in about 6 secs
Now after chipped and tuned its doing 0-60 in about 5 secs.( maybe a tad quicker)

as far as the numbers game and perfomance, this product is highly recommended along with the service from TTP.
Reliability-wise it seems ok, just have to wait and see if I come across any issues.

overall im satisfied and the car seems a bit quicker, especially from like 35-60.

BASELINE NUMBERS:

ZCHIP TUNED NUMBERS:

Here is the graph overlay. NOTE the area under the curve. Peak to peak torque did not seem like astounding gains unless you look at the graph and see that the stock average peak tq was only about 227wtq whereas post-tuning, the car peaked around 265 torque and stayed there with much area under the curve.

Its actually a great point because stock Evo X's are dynoing at 238-252whp and they are 300lbs+ heavier with ridiculous air fuel ratios on them.

The highest torque was actually 286wtq, however we turned down the wick a little bit in order to keep the torque limiters happy. I am pretty sure we can squeeze 300tq out of that little car, but the trans may get a little wacky.

Let us know if you get back to Texas any faster.
I might have to take a Florida trip now.
That might not be until later when I shoot the exxxoticamiami expo.

Those WHP and WTQ numbers are nice. No issues with the transmission so far and is there more top end power after the tune?

you might be on par with evo in terms of torque and HP and you guys are way off on the weight, stock X gsr is 3517 and stock RA is 3462, so thats little over 50lbs weight diff and not 300lbs, but all in all this tuned RA should be right around a stock X

According to Mitsus numbers, the Ralliart weighs in at something like 3480, only making it 70+- lbs lighter.

RA is 3462 LB
http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/j...s.do?loc=en-us

according to EVo M
the GSR is 3555lb
https://www.evolutionm.net/features/article.php?id=105

or 3528lb
http://car-reviews.automobile.com/Mi...son-test/5887/

3517 lb max on Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubi...ncer_Evolution

but no way the EVo GSR is 3700 + lb...
