ECU+ and Evo IX

It saddens me to ask this question but will the ECU+ work with the IX and it's variable timing?

Just yesterday I was in a really bad wreck with my Evo VIII -- someone cut across my lane to merge onto an interstate and smashed into the front of my car. Initial estimates are over 15K for repairs, so the car may be totaled

I currently have the black box version so I was looking for some information.

Thanks

The answer is: I can't swear to it until I see an IX, but I expect it'll work fine. The MIVEC heads really shouldn't affect anything that the ECU+ does, and since the IX is the end of the line for the current EVO setup, chances are that Mitsu has left the stock ECU largely alone.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you are ok, which is what really matters.

One thing will not work is the Plug-and-play harness will not fit to the IX ECU so you will have to do the wiring.

I saw the IX ECU connector from a friend EVO IX when we were trying to see his previous EVO 8 hardness will fit. It's only from the observation point since we did not try to plug it in because of the different.

Hmmm. Not good news for me! Looks like I have some work to do to get the thing working on the IX. Thanks for the info.

Tom, from what I know (which is unconfirmed) the USDM Evo 8's use 2 row ECU connector, correct? Which is the same as JDM Evo 7. Whereas the Evo 9 uses 3 row connector, which I *suspect* is same to JDM Evo 8.

Not that it may help it's just that I have JDM Evo 8, planning to use ECU+, so chances are I'll wait until there's Evo 9 (3 row) plug-and-play connector.

Assuming there's NO COMPATIBILITY issues between 8 and 9 ECUs...

Kronik - FYI - The insurance industry will only total your car if the damages are equal to or more than 80% of the fair market value of your car.

I thought it's 50% of the bluebook to get it totaled.
And it's a good thing no person got hurt.
I would liek to know how the IX support turn out too Tom.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to see how long it takes some of the harness manufacturers to come up with something for the IX - 'till then, I guess no ECU+ for the IX.
