Trailer hitch

Is it true that AMS has fabbed up a trailer hitch to work with the Evo 8? Only to be used with lite towing of course?

yeah we welded up something for the event but it goes through the bumper where the liscense plate would be. not something we would ever sell.

that be weird to see an evo hauling anything, but i guess it would work to carry some extra parts to the track if u dont have a truck to trailer the car, plus its always funner to drive your car to the track runs 12's or lower and drive it home

I used a modified lancer hitch.. Takes a bit of work since the bumper on the evo is quite a bit different, but wasnt impossible.

I did this when i moved to Cali.. Drove ~3K miles with the trailer on back.

Not that i would do this on a normal basis though.

About a year ago there was a thread here where someone had fabricated a very slick hitch and was selling them. I almost bought one to haul tires to and from the track and then found that by removing the rear seat, just the seat not the back, I could get 4 wheels and tires plus two plastic containers on the floor beneath them. So that solved my problemas there was enough space left with the trunk to carry stuff for a 2 day event.
