Triple Disk Clutch blew up at 8k RPM PICS INSIDE

So during a 2nd gear mid boost pull at about 8k rpm my clutch exploded into pieces and basically grenaded the engine bay! Shep trans, triple disk clutch, intercooler, radiator and more are all shot!

Initial details: When this happened I was on 35psi which on my setup is a little over 700hp. The turbo is a 42r, and there was only 400 miles on the clutch. I am waiting to find out what the clutch company is going to do before I say too much.

Edit UPDATE: This was a triple disk carbon Exedy clutch! I sent the clutch to Exedy for them to inspect it. They were unsure of what could have caused the problem, either the clutch bolts were not tightened properly or could have been a heat issue. Either way they decided to give me a brand new clutch for free! Full warranty! I was pretty excited to hear that they were going to back up there product. Customer service was awesome! I would buy Exedy again after this experience!

Shep said that he has some spare cases around so he is putting all new syncros in the tranny and slapping it in a new case for me. The intercooler is fixed, radiator will need to be replaced, what I thought was going to cost me 5000$ + is turning out to be not that bad!

Good times:

Awesome. Looks like a twin-scroll GT40? I'm assuming around 900WHP? Time for a new trans and clutch!

Good lord jesus christ almighty!!!! That thing destroyed some stuff!!!

Exedy triple carbon??? How many miles on that thing? I'd raise hell if my clutch came apart like that and trashed all that stuff. Seems like your tranz would be ok just need a new bell housing?

Its to be determined if the tranny is salvageable. 400 miles on the clutch

Whatever clutch it was, def had a manufacturer defect without a doubt unless it saw some extreme abuse for the 400 miles it had.

Scatter shield would have helped minimize damage but still its insane that happened on low boost with and only 400 miles!

Sorry about the damage to your car!
