So I installed latest EcuFlash beta Version 1.43.2990, for ACD and StandAlone Logging support.


Now when trying to use EvoScan, I get "OpenPort2 not responding. Unplug USB cable and try again"

This is with EvoScan 2.6, and latest 2.7 beta.

I've removed all old drivers with "Add/Remove Programs", and reinstalled. Still same.


With latest EcuFlash it upgraded the OP2.0 firmware, I'm thinking this is the problem.

OS = Win XP


Is anyone else having this issue?


Update:

Uninstalled all versions of EvoScan and EcuFlash and drivers. Deleted folders. (Losing a lot of .xmls)

Attempt to reinstall EcuFlash 1.42.2595, plug in OP2.0 and it asks for "openport.sys" which isn't anywhere on computer.

Turning into nightmare...

Do not install latest EcuFlash beta and update your firmware.


Update 2:

Complete uninstall, then install EcuFlash beta 1.43.2990, then install EvoScan, and everything works.

Once you install EcuFlash 1.43 beta and update firmware, you can't go back. New firmware not compatible with old drivers or something.

I no longer have any working EvoScan. This is kinda anoying, must we buy another copy of EvoScan?

 

According to colby in the other thread, the beta version of EcuFlash includes (and requires) new drivers for the cable. I'm going to guess that EvoScan isn't playing nicely with them. You might want to open a support ticket with Hamish.

 

Same issue here as well. I re-ran the 2.6 install and told it to repair. I guess I'll have to remove/install completely.

Did you end up getting it to work on 2.6 or 2.7?

This may sound silly, but did you look and see if your default cable selection was changed near the logging button in evoscan? This happened to me with a beta version of evoscan, had me confused for a minute. Just had to select the correct cable.

 

That's definitely not my issue.

 

You need to completely uninstall EvoScan and EcuFlash and old Drivers.

Then install new EcuFlash, then EvoScan. And everything works.


Think EvoScan is trying to use the old drivers. If you are good with the Registry and Drivers, could probably make everything work without a complete uninstall, but easier for me just to reinstall.

I deleted all traces of old drivers from /system32/driver/ also, but don't know if thats necessary.

 

Well I tried (before you responded) uninstalling evoscan and reinstalling completely and that didn't do the trick.

I'll take your advice and pull it all off, put it all back, and see what happens. I'll pull drivers and dick around in the registry if I have to. I'd rather avoid it.

Oh, what version did you end up on? 2.6 or 2.7?

 

I had EcuFlash get wonky on my a few days back. Ended up having to uninstall EcuFlash using "REVO Uninstaller" and then installed everything again. You must delete all registry/driver/folder info using the Revo uninstaller. This was the only way to completly uninstall EcuFlash. If you uninstall the traditional way, it leaves registry info and drivers from what i understand. Revo should do the trick. IT's free....google it.

This will allow you to start completly fresh. PLease make sure you back up your .xml and ROMs before you use Revo, as the program will delete the EcuFlash/openECU folders.

 

I have 2.7.0017 beta (Private release for H8 testing) installed.

I need to find 2.6 on my hard drive to reinstall it.


Edit:

EvoScan 2.6 will not work with the new EcuFlash drivers.

Only the newer 2.7 versions work.

Once you update the OP2.0 firmware, seems you're screwed and can't go back...

I had opened a support ticket with Hamish. He sent me EvoScan v2.7.0031 beta.
I uninstalled Evoscan 2.6 with the windows installer, installed the beta, and all is good again!

 

same problem, opened a ticket, no reply for 4 days, any idea you could give me a link?

 

I had this. I just went to hardware profiles, selected the op2 > properties. then uninstall drivers.
I then unplugged then plugged the op2 back in, Then when it asks where to get the drivers from, Specifically point it to the drivers folder in EVOSCAN. Now they both work a treat.
