Boost Tapering

So i've had my AEM EMS for a while now. Tuned by busted solutions unfortunately. Anyways, looking for the easiest way to get rid of my boost taper?

Yes the AEM is controlling my boost. George told me I didn't need my hallman anymore. Then when I asked why my boost was tapering he said I needed a boost solenoid.

I thought the hallman came with one, and he's like, that won't work.

Besides that I dunno what configuration it's running. What exactly do you mean?

What he is saing is the factory solinoind can't keep up with the air you are flowing.. He is probally suggesting you get a solinoid such as th GM, which does a much better job of controling boost at higher levels.. THe MBC could do a fine job of controling boost, but that would take the EMS out of the equation, and you would need to make sure the MBC was always dialed in to your target boost, when the weather changes etc, since the EMS would now have no way to control boost..

You can pick up a GM solinoid for like 15-20bucks..

If you don't have a solenoid then the AEM is NOT controlling your boost. You are just using a manual boost controler at this point in the game. You need to read up on boost control over at aempower.com.

I have a boost solenoid. I was told the AEM could not stop boost tapering as long as it's using the stock solenoid. That is all.

If you have it set up like stock with the solenoid acting as a bleeder valve you are probably correct. If you set it up as a blocker valve it would probably work as well as the GM solenoid.

Where are you guys finding these GM Solenoids? I couldn't find them on AEM's site or on AEM dealer sites so far.

Is the part number still 19971523? The site doesn't recognize that one.

Thanks,

if you can't find the part number you can go to/call a gm parts counter and ask for the solenoid for a GMC typhoon/cyclone. They might have them in stock, but you can get the part number there as well.
