I bought one of those cars, but I couldn't get it to work. Even Scot Gray tried, to no avail. I just ended up buying a new Dell Latitude D620 which has a serial port on the computer.

If your computer has a serial port, you deffinitely shouldn't be buying a serial card. I'm sure you just ave a wrong setting somewhere either in the computer or in the EMS. Maybe someone that is more computer savy can chime in and help you trouble shoot the problem.

You could also get a wireless serial device server so that you don't have to deal with hooking up a cable anymore....

USB adapters are famous for causing problems with the AEM. It will work, I use one. But over time it will corrupt the cal and cause weird problems. If I'm doing a lot of street tuning I'll have to reload the cal file to the ECU every couple weeks to clear out all the bugs. I bought a serial card to try to get around this BS, but I haven't been able to get it to work in the whole 5 minutes I've spent on it so far...
