Timing Sync and Adjustable cam gears

here is the question guys. I have a 2.4 bottom end with a EVO8 head, HKS 272s, 8.5:1 comp ratio wiseco's. My tune is pretty good. After 500 miles on the new motor and a compression test, I got 210 across the board, the consistancy is very good, but the cylinder pressure is wayyy too high, im guessing it should be around 180 or so. With that being said, the reason its so high is because my exhaust cam timing is a little off, so that their is virtually no valve overlap which is causing the higher pressure. My question is that once I retard the timing on the exhaust cam a few degrees, is that going to screw up my timint and my timing sync on the AEM? I know if it was the intake cam it wouldnt matter but being the exhaust cam has the sensor on it, I wasnt sure.

Just redo the timing with the timing light. That will answer your question. It's not very hard to do.
