I haven;t had any ignition problems AT ALL on my car with the aem so far - its running like a bear - I am at 19 psi on pump gas right now - may try some high boost action next week if the roads are clear enough

aem for al?
Al,
Did you now switch to an aem ems? I read you are jumping ship from your autronic...
If not, get off this thread- it is a serious tech forum. Please limit your thread wasting to other areas.
You already stated you had no ignition problems on other threads. If you have new info particular to the aem, please share. Otherwise, go away.

Dude, chill out! He switched to the AEM EMS and if he has valid input on it you need to stay off his back.

How do you know he has switched? He bashed my going with it on several occasions so I am surprised if that is the case.
I welcome observations if Al is tuning with an aem... As in maps, solutions etc. That would be news as would contributing without wasting a thread would also be....
If he is cool and wants to contribute then fine. No one has a monopoly on ideas- you can learn something from anyone. If al is not using the ems though, my statement stands.

He has an AEM now so he will probably run into it here before long. I think plug gap is really the only other solution in the short term.

I am merely offering MY experience wih the AEM AMS on MY car
so far no break up of ignition at all - but I only went to 19 psi so far
Unlike a lot of other folks - i try out everything and discard the ones which don;t work
the aem seems lik a keeper so far

All of you guys know that you have to do ignition boxes, eventually. So why take any longer? Just get the AEM C2DI, or HKS DLI2...
I got mine C2DI, but I will install on the weekend...

Al,
Hey, since you are aem bound, knock yourself out. Lets make this thread extra productive and "just the facts".
I will be adding the aem cdi tomorrow and will post...
BTW, I am noticing a big improvement at .23 gap with new stock plugs- able to run 1.6 boost with roll on 1st gear 4 wheel burnouts when the boost hits... No dyno available this week but it pulls really strong.
On another note, Mark at quantum brought up sharing maps on this as a way to speed up the dialing process for everyone... I am open to it if others are...
I am not a vendor here but the aem is not a flash... It will always require tuning and is a major upgrade that will need the efforts of a shop for most people and sharing the knowledge is not going to kill any business. It may sell a few more aems actually if we collectively dial it in and make it more accessible.
Anyone have any other ignition thoughts for the evo on a cost effective basis?

When I put the fuel system in, then I will feel it higher.
The AEM is an awesome system.
Fiorst we plugged it in with the MAF sensor, the car started immediately, and it wa srunning a lot better. Then at 1am I installed the MAP sensor, and did the 3 wires, rescaled the 3.5bar map to my 5bar map, and now the car is nice.
